Textile re-use and repair at Presteigne

If you are able, please drop in at the Textiles Re-use & Repair Wkshop 12.30- 2.30 pm Sat 21 Aug, Dome Presteigne.
 Perfect, if you are daunted by the idea of approaching your sewing machine! Rosamund Black will be taking you through some basics.
 The Zero Waste Project will be offering free courses on re-use and repair and during the Saturday session they will be asking people what they would like to learn.

There will be free fresh coffee, teas and biscuits!

Food Preservation Event at Llanidloes

Saturday 11h September

10.15am – 3.30pm


Meet at Llanidloes Community Centre, 10.15am

Do you grow fruit and veg? Do you have gluts of crops? Do you want to know more about saving food to eat over winter? If yes, then this event is for you.

It  will look at both outdoor and indoor methods of preserving food crops. Clamping roots, plaiting onions, storing apples, pressing apples, sauerkraut & pickling are a few of the things being covered with recipes and advice available for jams, chutneys and other indoor methods.

Llandeilo hosts Home Planet on the Beeb

Home Planet

BBC Radio 4 will be recording an edition of Home Planet in the Civic Centre, Llandeilo on Friday August 6th at 3pm.  The programme invites questions about the environment from climate change to wildlife.  Some questions will have been sent in pre-recording, but questions will be taken from the audience.  Anyone is welcome to come along and be part of the audience either to put a question or just to see how a BBC Radio programme is put together.

The programme will be broadcast on Tuesday August 10th.

Solar ovens and pick n' cook days

Two events for low impact, high taste foodies

D.I.Y. Solar Oven Workshop with Mark Jenkins of Sustainability Education and the HANDS ON Collective* will be showing how to make a solar oven from scratch on Saturday 31st July at theEdible Landscaping Garden. Lunch provided & cooked in solar oven [‘one we made earlier’].
