Can we encourage as many as possible to sign and/or organise petitions - and if possible to attend the "Day of Action" at the Carmarthen Guildhall on Saturday 30th August at 10am.

If the TTIP goes ahead, as is being discreetly negotiated at present, it will make billions for the US global corporations and ruin our society, economy and environment in the process.

Lugg and Arrow clean-up

We have been approached by Tony Norman of the Lugg & Arrow Fisheries Ass. to find out

if any of you are able to get involved in this effort to kleen-up the rubbish out of our Rivers Lugg & Arrow over the weekend of 15th & 16th May. Teams in Leominster and villages on the rivers are needed to get near to complete coverage. So far they have the involvement of the following:

Us - KLEEN (Kington)

Wye and Usk Foundation

Lugg and Arrow Fisheries Association

Pembridge volunteers

Keep Wales tidy (Presteigne)

A London group

It will finish up with different groups doing different lengths over the weekend at different times.

At least one fisher-person willbe placed with each group, in full-chest waders.

They would like to do as many lengths as possible, the target would be to clear the whole of the Lugg and the Arrow

(possibly 50+ miles of river!) Well, you have to aim high!

This link shows some of the efforts that have been done in the past by the Wye and Usk Foundation (who are helping us)

Preferably he would like leaders of groups who would be interested  to contact him.

(If I know the strength of the team and location- he can work out an appropriate length- with permissions etc)
