Peace and Permaculture in Snowdonia
World Peace Day at Llanrwst
It is becoming increasingly clear to many people that for peace to stand a chance in our communities and between nations that inner balance and harmony is essential. Caring for the environment is directly influenced by how connected people feel to it. Activities that enable people to connect with nature and one another, often involving creative expression, are a good way to do this. This s the thinking behind the World Peace Day gathering planned for June 18 at Maes y Bryn campsite, Carmel, near Llanwrst (near the famous and beautiful falls of Betws y Coed on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park.
All day from 10am to 4pm there will be a wealth of creative and holistic options from which to choose, including walking, storytelling, music, drumming, mazes, gardening, Permaculture, ancient wisdom traditions, healing and walking. Mid Wales Permaculture Network will have an interactive information stand and give a presentation, and Roz Brown, Coordinator of the Network, will lead an introductory workshop on the Lakota Sioux 7 Point Attunement – the Native American equivalent of Tai Chi (this is also being taught at an Integral Permaculture day at MWPN HQ near Rhayader at the end of May).
The Maes y Bryn campsite has been voted one of the top 10 in Wales, and the area is full of stunning scenery. Entry to the event is £3 over 14 years (under 14 free), and all entry money will go to charity. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic, and you can bring your tent and make a weekend of it – details:
