  • The 2014 Spring Greens Fair


    Bigger, better, bursting with good things green, but still intimate and charming...the 2014 Spring Greens Fair is back this weekend, 3/4 May at the wonderful Court of Noke, Staunton on Arrow. Mid Wales Permaculture Network will be there, of course (perennial forest garden plants for sale and adopt-a-plant with free plants for children. This year there will be even more wonderful food, activities, forum discussions, demonstrations, crafts, performace... see it all here:

Stone walling with lime mortar

How about this for people power. Discoed church has a churchyard wall in need of repair. We have booked a trainer over 2 weekends to help give people tuition in rebuilding this wall. Participants gain tea, cake, a weekend in beautiful surroundings and experience and knowledge in rebuilding a lime mortared wall.

Stone walling with Lime Mortar 
Discoed Churchyard, Nr Presteigne, Powys

Choose a weekend to suit you:

Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th June

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th June

10am - 4.30pm

During this practical weekend learn how to build/restore traditional stone walls.

Assess walls for damage, choose & shape stone, mix & apply lime mortar, rebuild the wall & finish off in the traditional style. Places are limited to ensure proper tuition can be given during the weekend. 
Tools, tea, cake & course notes provided!
