Another hobbit house needs willing hands
Low Impact Building Opportunity :: 1st-7th August
I have recently been involved in working on another low impact roundhouse in Pembrokeshire. The building was started by Tony Wrench and is currently in the finishing stages. It belongs to our good friend Kate and she could do with some help with the final finishing stages so her and her daughter can get moved in. It'll be a good oportunity to see lots of aspects of a building like this whilst getting a summer holiday in a lovely spot. There is a large woodland next door with rivers and a gorgeous waterfall (Kate is a member of Growing Heart Coop www.growingheart.co.uk who manage the woodland). There is plenty of camping space (bring your tents) and Kate can provide food given a contribution towards the cost.
The work will include :
Levelling out land around the house and laying stone
Putting in drainage pipes
Guttering on the roundhouse
Making wooden doors and loo top for compost toilet
Finishing off white washing the walls
Making internal walls and sink unit
Helping construct the skylight for the middle of the roof

Llandeilo Car Share Plans
Car share schemes
The Energy and Transport group is interested to know how much support there might be locally for setting up a car sharing scheme based in and around Llandeilo. We'd be interested in receiving comments on two possible projects.

Volunteers needed to sort textiles for Zero Waste
Would anyone be prepared to assist Presteigne and Norton Zero Waste project to sort through the mass of clothing that they have collected over the past three months? This will entail categorising/grading the clothing and working alongside the Project Supervisor in the depot. Time is at your convenience and your 'earnings' will be paid to a local group or organisation of your choice.
